From Death to Life

I carved this marble sculpture from a discarded headstone. As I created this piece, I experienced an event that changed my life and my perspective on life and death. It pushed me to find new meaning and create something new out of an old, decaying state. As I worked, I wrote stories and poems and journaled on the wall of my studio while I contemplated how we could find life in places of darkness and trials. This piece grew and found life with me as we transformed simultaneously.
